The 7 Days Uganda Wildlife Excursion Safari takes you to Uganda’s largest national park known as Murchison Falls National Park, situated in Northwestern Uganda on an area of 3,840 sq km, was gazette in 1926 as a game reserve.

It is classified with Savannah grasslands and the Victoria Nile that flows through separating it into two (the northern and southern banks). Murchison Falls is home to over 451 bird species such as the Great blue Turaco, Goliath heron, the Shoebill, and the dwarf kingfisher among others, 76 mammal species, a big number of Nile crocodiles, and above all the magnificent and thunderous Murchison Falls squeezing their way through a gorge that is 7m wide.

This 7 Days Uganda Wildlife Excursion Safari will also take you further to Semuliki Valley and Kibale Forest National Park, you will have an opportunity to enjoy both our Uganda Safari game drives and the boat cruises along the Nile River and Lake Albert in the Semuliki Valley basin.

Detailed 7 Days Uganda Wildlife Excursion Safari

Day 1: Arrive/Entebbe – Meet – Greet – transfer to the Hotel – briefing – overnight

Arrive at the airport/our team will meet you, greet and transfer to the hotel for a briefing a communication introduction to the itinerary, have a free evening dinner and overnight. (Meal Plan on BD)

Day 2: Entebbe/Kampala – Zziwa Rhinos – Murchison Falls National Park

Drive to Murchison Falls National Park from Kampala it will take an approximate 8 hours including a stopover at Nakitoma for the Rhino visit and a canoe ride for a search of the shoebill stock. Along the way you will see the well-known Luwero triangle, which currently has developed into a small township famous for its painful history of the Baganda mass murder during the 1981 – 1985 war.

A stopover at Zziwa Rhino sanctuary for the Rhinos and the Shoebill, lunch and later proceed to drive through Budongo forest and Kaniyo Pabidi down to Paraa. Arrive on time to check in your hotel relax, have dinner and overnight. (Meal Plan on F/B)

Day 3 of 7 Days Uganda Wildlife Excursion Safari: Murchison Falls National Park – game drive – boat cruise – Hike to the Top of the Falls

This day, set out on a game drive through the park to look for elephants, Uganda kobs, giraffes, lions, water bucks, hippos and buffaloes, and a diversity of bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch and later enjoy a boat cruise in the afternoon to the bottom of the falls to see a diversity of wildlife on the river banks drinking water.

You will see various antelope species, crocodiles, water bucks, hippos, elephants plus buffaloes among many others in addition to a diversity of water bird species that make this a renowned bird paradise. The waterfalls display a natural beauty unmatched to no other place in the whole world.

The 7-meter gorge together with a 43m drop of the falls results into a thunderous roar and a gorgeous rainbow in a cloud of water spray which leaves several tourists yearning! out of the boat to start a famous Top of the Falls hike that gives you a climax beautiful views of this mighty Falls, your driver will pick up form the Top of the Falls to drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 4: Murchison Falls NP – Fort Portal – Semliki National Park – sight seeing

Drive to Semliki and head to Bundibugyo, enjoy this spectacular drive with views of Lake Albert and the legendary Mountain Rwenzori ranges. This park is situated in Bundibugyo district along the western border of Uganda with the Democratic Republic of Congo near Lake Albert.

The park has a great location within western Albertine Rift valley region and occupies the eastern section of Ituri forest connecting Uganda with Congo River separated by river Semliki. Semliki is a site for ornithologists with approximately 400 species of bird mainly forest birds.

Approximately 300 species of trees have been recorded here and more than 52 mammal species including 11 diurnal species. In the night you will have a spot-lit game drive. Day 5 of 7 Days Uganda Wildlife Excursion Safari: Semuliki NP – Game drive – Sempaya hot springs – Board/nature walk – Kibale NP

Visit the highlight in Semliki, referred to as the Sempaya hot springs. These natural springs have a geyser shooting high from an 8-meter-wide hole at a very high temperature. Of its kind, this is the largest in the whole of Uganda. On this very trail, you may identify a couple of bird types such as the blue breasted kingfisher plus Frasier’s ant-thrush in addition to primates such as the grey checked mangabey plus the red-tailed monkey.

Proceed to Mungilo waterfall to see some other fascinating birds; particularly ideal for birders. In the Late afternoon, take a boat ride on Lake Albert, a wonderful lake. See the various water animals and later head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight: (Meal Plan on Full Board)

Day 6: Kibale Forest NP – Chimpanzee trekking – Bigodi Forest walk – community experience 

Following breakfast, wake up early to track chimps near Kanyanchu. This can take you half a day. There are primates in the area like the golden monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, baboons, white and black Colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabeys, red Colobus, blue monkeys and pottos. Other animals involve forest elephants unique from the common type, giant forest hogs and a striking tree species

This national park has the biggest number of primates in the whole of East Africa such as chimpanzees, black & white Colobus monkeys, the blue monkeys plus baboons. After lunch, take a guided nature walk in the Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a place ideal for birders. The Papyrus Gonolek plus the Blue Turaco can easily be seen among other 137 bird types.
